INDICATIONS:

Methotrexate is used in the management of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and for the prophylaxis and treatment of meningeal leukemia.
It may also be used for Burkitt’s lymphoma and other non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.
In solid tumors, methotrexate is an important part of curative regimens for:

• Choriocarcinoma and other gestational trophoblastic tumors

• Adjuvant therapy of osteosarcoma and breast cancer

• Treatment of malignant neoplasms of the bladder, head and neck, and some other solid tumors

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Methotrexate is contraindicated in:

• Pregnancy

• Patients in a poor nutritional state

• Those with serious renal or hepatic impairment

• Patients with bone marrow suppression, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, or anemia
