Maxoptic

INDICATIONS:

MAXOPTIC is indicated for the treatment of ocular infections and inflammations caused by organisms sensitive to Neomycin and Polymyxin B, including:

  • Conjunctivitis

  • Blepharo-conjunctivitis

  • Kerato-conjunctivitis

  • Non-specific superficial keratitis

  • Herpes zoster ophthalmicus

  • Mild iritis and iridocyclitis

  • Corneal ulcer

  • Scleritis

  • Post-operative infection prevention

Neomycin + Dexamethasone + Polymyxin B

Maxoptic

5 mg / 1 mg / 6,000 units per mL Ophthalmic Solution
Antibacterial / Corticosteroid

FORMULATION:

Each mL contains:
Neomycin Sulfate .................................................. 5 mg
Dexamethasone (as Sodium Phosphate) ........... 1 mg
Polymyxin B (as Sulfate) ....................................... 6,000 units

DOSAGE:

Use as directed by physician.

CAUTION:

Dispensing without prescription is prohibited under the Food, Drugs, Devices, and Cosmetics Act.

STORAGE AND CONDITION:

Store below 25°C.​

AVAILABILITY:

Available in 5 mL plastic dropper bottle.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

  • Tuberculous, fungal, or viral eye infections (e.g., herpes simplex, vaccinia, varicella)

  • Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation​​​

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:

  • For ocular use only. Do not inject or ingest.

  • Prolonged use may lead to secondary infections, increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, cataracts, or delayed healing.

  • Monitor intraocular pressure regularly, especially in pediatric patients.

  • Use with caution in corneal thinning or in combination with CYP3A4 inhibitors.

  •  Do not wear contact lenses during use. If necessary, remove lenses before application and reinsert after 15 minutes.

  • Contains sodium metabisulfite, which may cause allergic-type reactions in sensitive individuals.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION:
Use only if clearly needed. Discontinue breastfeeding or the product based on benefit-risk assessment.
