Making Lupus Visible: Reflections from the 1st Filipino Lupus Patients’ Summit 2026

Last May 9, 2026, on World Lupus Day, I had the honor of representing Jackpharma Inc. online at the 1st Filipino Lupus Patients’ Summit 2026: Beyond Steroids – The Future of Lupus Care.

While my presence was connected to the work that we do, being part of this event was very meaningful for me. Events like this reminded me that behind every diagnosis is a real person, a real family, and a journey filled with different challenges. It also highlighted how important awareness, support, and access to proper care are for every lupus patient. Being there was not only an opportunity to support the community, but also to listen, learn, and stand alongside those who face this battle every single day.


A few years ago, someone very close to our family began their lupus journey. Since then, I have witnessed how difficult and life-changing the experience can be—not only for the patient, but also for the entire family. I have seen the uncertainty, the adjustments, and all the challenges that come with it. It is an experience that completely changed how I view lupus and made me realize how much strength lupus patients and their loved ones carry every single day.


To the family members, caregivers, advocates, healthcare professionals, and especially the lupus warriors who continue to fight with courage and resilience - I just want to say that you inspire me to help raise awareness and help make lupus more visible, so that more patients feel seen, supported, and understood.
