INDICATIONS:
Sitajack-M 50/500 is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in:

Patients inadequately controlled on their maximum tolerated dose of metformin alone
-
Patients already being treated with a combination of sitagliptin and metformin
It is also indicated in combination with:
-
A sulfonylurea (i.e., triple combination therapy), in patients inadequately controlled on maximum tolerated doses of metformin and a sulfonylurea
-
A PPAR-γ agonist (e.g., a thiazolidinedione), in patients inadequately controlled on maximum tolerated doses of metformin and a PPAR-γ agonist

Insulin, as triple combination therapy, in patients not adequately controlled with a stable dose of insulin and metformin
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to sitagliptin, metformin, or any component of the formulation
Any form of acute metabolic acidosis, including lactic acidosis or diabetic ketoacidosis
Diabetic pre-coma
Severe renal impairment (GFR < 30 mL/min)
Acute conditions that may impair renal function, such as:

Dehydration

Severe infection
-
Shock
-
Intravascular administration of iodinated contrast agents
Acute or chronic diseases that may cause tissue hypoxia, such as:

Cardiac or respiratory failure

Recent myocardial infarction
-
Hepatic impairment
Acute alcohol intoxication or alcoholism
Breastfeeding
